Some widely predicted news from last week that I missed - Orange and Bebo have signed an exclusive deal to bring mobile social networking to Orange customers. This is relevant as social networks will be the drivers of mobile internet usage.
In January there was news that around four percent of U.K. mobile users have uploaded content created on their mobile phones to social networking sites, video and picture sharing sites, blogs and personal web pages.
Bebo Mobile ... allows users to meet and chat using their WAP-enabled Orange handsets without extra software. Bebo Mobile users can create personal profiles, upload photos, create and update blogs and view other members’ profiles, exactly as with Bebo online. Orange will have an exclusive on the UK service for an undisclosed period of time before it is tailored and rolled out to other global Orange operations.
